A 365hp V6 with all wheel drive. Reliable, looks good, and probably can satisfy my sporting needs on a back road.
Plus it has been ecoboost sporting credentials.

My dad has one, their great cars.

Love how they look. And nice and powerful.
Never driven one but I do like it a lot

You should wait for the Fusion Sport. Weighs less, better interior, and hell, it actually has more room on the inside believe it or not.

I almost bought one a couple of times. The 2013+ with the performance pack is a legitimately trackable car. And with a tune, intake, and downpipes you can be in the mid-to-low 12-second range in the 1/4 mile. They are very underrated IMO as far as being a full-size performance sedan.

Very straight ones, yeah.

Haven’t driven this gen, but I loved my ‘97 - most reliable car I’ve had, and that includes 2 Toyotas, a CRX Si, and a Mercedes diesel.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:22 |
|
Hmm that just makes it that much more tempting to buy. I need more money
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:23 |

That's impressive. The 97 had the circle headlights right?
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:24 |

It can’t be THAT bad in corners
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:24 |

Wait they are actually making one?
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:25 |

Give you a good push in the back I imagine?
![]() 02/05/2016 at 19:29 |

I agree. Looky here.
You should test drive a Chevy SS and a Taurus SHO and give a comparison.

Just FYI: There is a Lincoln version.

Well shit. Now I really want an MKS
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:01 |

These cars look decent when they aren’t beat to hell like every other Taurus from that generation I see on the road.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:01 |

Fawning over the new Lincoln Continental too much I guess
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:03 |

The only thing I don’t like on the Taurus is how the C-pillar drops. They could have done it better.
Other than that, I like it.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:07 |

They are very nice. Driven plenty of them. They are quicker than you would think, and are VERY comfortable cars. Visibility kinda sucks, and I don’t think it handles that great, but otherwise its a killer. If your looking for the same car on a budget, get an MKS. Now THAT’S a sleeper.

I can’t believe Travis hasn’t commented already, he is in love with his.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:23 |

It’s not really bad, it will certainly hustle a little round corners if you wanted to. Just keep in mind that it is a very large, very heavy sedan whose chassis and all wheel drive system are not set up for high performance driving.

Mine was in great shape when I sold it in 2001 - only 2 things wrong with it - wheels had the optional chrome (ick) - and it went through 5 in-trunk CD changers. But that was JBL’s fault, not Ford’s.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:29 |
|
Hey nothing wrong with a little chrome!

No it is more GT than sports car certainly. But if you haven’t noticed from my posts I do like more GT than sport
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:30 |

Oh really? I was unaware he had one.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:31 |

I am more of a Lincoln guy myself. So that would probably be the one for me.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:32 |
|
Best part is you could do that to the Lincoln MKS too and blow doors off
![]() 02/05/2016 at 20:35 |

Nah - the stock matte wheels looked great. My favorite sort of 5-spokers. But I got a deal on the car because it had cloth interior and none of the fanboys wanted that. Except me - I was a vegetarian at the time and would have had difficulty explaining leather.

Get a 13+ Performance pack or you will regret it. Also the 6f55 doesn't hold up to abuse so get one from an old person.

Are you in Michigan? you can beat the piss out of mine if you want.

I bested a corvette in an autocross in mine.

Yep. It's the 4 door ford to have

Well being a vegetarian and wanting cloth is a good reason. And I have to say being a vegetarian is something I could never do. I love ribs and steak way too much.

Bad horseback riding accident, so I gained 45 pounds because I stopped running. Did not stop eating and drinking. Six months vegan took the weight off, then 8 years vegetarian kept it off. Then a beautiful girlfriend in a bikini came to me on the beach bearing a cheeseburger. That was 1996. I’ve never looked back.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:00 |

Haha I might have to take you up on that offer. I am a little further south in the Toledo area going to college right now.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:01 |
|
Hahaha I wouldn’t either. Sounds like heaven to me. Just add a good Corona with a lime and I think I would become a beach bump. It would beat studying for the LSAT that is for sure!

I am a lawyer. Trust me - go to medical school. Go to business school. Law school is of little value at this point. I am top 10% from a top 25 law school, and I am underemployed. Don’t waste the money.
And the GF was 5'11" 145 and had served in the Marine Corps. Basically, I’d eat whatever she told me to ... and then drop and give her 20.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:09 |
|
Hmm well that doesn’t sound too cheerful. Although I am not sure if I want to go to law school and practice. While the idea is attractive I have also interned with the local Republican party in my home town and just the idea of government in general seems appealing. I would love the though of being a judge but I understand that would take a lot of work.
And it sounds like you found yourself a catch with that one!

Let this liberal school you - go to B school, make some money, then think about public life. Then go make some more money.
Yeah - Linda was great. The only woman I’ve ever dated who could kill me with one blow of her hand, but still ....
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:17 |

Hmm I wish I would have known that two years ago. Things are already in motion. And I don’t think B school would work well with a Hist/Poli Sci major
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:20 |
|
Poli Sci is perfect for B-School. Or spend a year getting the science courses and go to med school at the University of Hawaii. That’s what I’d do if I had a do over.

Haha I do not think my fiancé would appreciate that too much considering she is moving to Ohio this summer after we graduate.

MEDICAL SCHOOL. Dermatology, radiology, or anesthesiology. Do not make a huge mistake like I did.
Now I’ll shut up.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:33 |

Honestly I am not sure I would want that. I have an irrational fear/hatred/disgust of hospitals. But I shall look into alternative options. Who knows, maybe something else well come along if I get this internship this summer at the state house.

I'm in the northern Detroit suburbs. There are plenty of events happening this summer let me know if you want to drive the SHO.

This summer I will be in southern Ohio. I am kinda hoping there is in an Oppo meet up this spring. I would love to come up and meet people. But thank you for the offer! I would love to give it a little spin!
![]() 02/05/2016 at 21:51 |

It’s gigantic and cramped.
Get a 3.8 CTS. You'll be much happier

If you’re a Lincoln guy, the MKS is the car for you. I remember the first time I drove one for a delivery. I downshifted and that thing screamed.
![]() 02/05/2016 at 22:26 |

Little spin? Beat the piss out of it, bounce it off the rev limiter, it's a lease, I don't care!

I’ve got a buddy at work with one in that blurple color. He loves it and it is damn fast for as big as it is. The best part is it will smoke just about anything off the line if the pavement is wet with that awd. The interior is a bit plasticky - but you forget about that as you hit 110 and are still pulling amazingly hard. It’s the fastest “big” car I’ve ever ridden in.
![]() 02/06/2016 at 00:03 |
|
Fast in a straight line, bloaty and under-steery in the twisties. Don’t get me wrong, I think they look great and have sporting characteristics but not a back road thrasher by any means.

Well, now I have another possible car for replacing the Accord if I ever get some extra cash.
